Hi there, I’m Gelsie.
I love working with adults and couples to better their lives and relationships.
Long before I became a counselor, I found it important to really hear what others were saying, to hear their story, and to understand their struggle. Your story is important to me. It is my privilege to come along side of you on your journey of renewal. There is more hopefulness, more possibility, and more empowerment when we do the work together. You are not alone!
Why choose to work with me?
My desire is to create a warm, trusting, and hopeful environment where you and I can grow as individuals.
I strive to hold hope for those who are struggling to find it for themselves.
I enjoy helping others develop their skill of self-awareness so that they can make the desired changes in their lives.

“I believe in healing
as an ongoing practice
instead of a task to complete.”

Bio
I grew up as a first-generation American which led me to understand the complexity of a multicultural world. Upon graduating from high school, my first college degree was centered around music-vocal performance. That was my realm of work for several years. During that time, I got married to another musician after college, had three children, and grew older while experiencing varying employment and several moves.
After moving to Virginia, I worked in a counseling office. This led me to an interest in going back to school for a Master’s in professional counseling which brings me here: a wife, a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and a foster cat mom. In my spare time, I enjoy being with family, cooking, doing music, cleaning, attending theater performances, playing games, gardening, walking, boating, reading, and listening to podcasts.
